Spice is my personal house dog. She is everything I have been breeding for. I was shooting birds over Spice when she was 4 months old and she held until the gun fire and retrieved to hand. With no training at all she finished her JH title and earned one leg of her SH title. Her first litter of puppies are showing all of the same great things that their mom has. Spice was hunted on wild pheasants in the fall, against my better judgement because we don't have her MH title yet, and gave me a surprise of my life. She was able to keep right up with her grandma Magic and pointed just as many birds. She even caught and killed her first rabbit.
SPICE HAS BEEN SPAYED - IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW
Several months ago the owner of Spice's sire contacted me to let me know that she had discovered something very important to dog breeders: a full littermate to the sire had developed epilepsy. She was being very up front and honest about it, and I appreciated the information very much. My first response was to think that I had never had epilepsy in my lines, and therefore I wasn't worried. However, about a two months ago I was contacted by the owner of a full littermate to Spice. Her female had developed epilepsy. I have chosen to do what I think is right in light of all of the information now available to me, and spay not only Spice, but also her sister Miranda. Their brother, Radar, is being neutered. I am not a gambling person and do not think it is worth the risk to breed these dogs with the possibility of epilepsy coming out again. This was not a hard decision for me. No family should ever have to experience epilepsy in their companion and trusted hunting partner.
Spice is probably one of the prettiest and most stylish solid black females around. She will be a permanent guide dog on the Hunting Preserve. Her mother was bred one more time because of these issues and having to spay Spice. Tag really came through for me, and I have 3 solid black girls to pick from to continue my breeding program. All of the black puppies in the litter are spoken for.
I am trying to contact everyone that has full littermates to Spice or offspring out of her. If I have not gotten a hold of you yet, please feel free to contact me for more information.
