Wind River's Black Magic MH

Magic is a once in a lifetime dog. I will always be looking for someone to fill Magic's place. She was a very special dog. Magic was able to beat Blastomycosis, not only once but twice. She put smiles on so many youngsters faces when she pointed and retrieved their first pheasant. I can't tell you how many hunts that I guided with her that after finding all of the hand planted birds she would disappear and make the hunters very nervous, to find her on point along the river on a huge rooster (aka long tailed corn sucking varmint). Magic was so special that she would let you know even before you could see the Dove coming in. Her last season fall of '09 was her best. She spent many hours riding on the 4-wheeler and jumping off to find Dove that the hunters couldn't.

She has left a legacy in her offspring. Magic was known World Wide by her accomplishments as a Top Producing Dam. Maybe someday the color black will be accepted in the USA like it is in all of the other countries. Magic in my opinion should have Hall of Fame Status.

Magic passed away during surgery to remove a huge tumor from her abdomen. Dr. Kim at Animal Health Care Center in Arcola, IL did everything in her power to buy Magic more time, but it just was not meant to be. I hope Magic is enjoying life beyond the Rainbow, pointing and chasing birds endlessly.
